SUBURBAN DOWNSIZE
When a lovely retired couple decided to downsize their home as well as their amount of collectable antiques, they were left with boxes of items, unsure of where to put them. In order to assess the décor and space available to work with, Shabby Chateau arranged an in-home consultation, and after establishing the couple’s design vision, began organizing and decorating the home.
This project required very few new purchases, and instead warranted time and attention towards refurbishing existing elements. Various painting techniques were used on stone, brick and furnishings to enhance areas with artwork. Items were repaired by Shabby Chateau or sent out for repair if necessary, while linens and dishware were used in unconventional ways. Thanks to Shabby Chateau, the happy couple can now live in their new warm and cozy home, surrounded by their precious collectables.
